Small evergreen tree in Stanley Park

    Glossy, evergreen leaves and looks like Osmanthus but it's tree-like in form. Could it be Osmanthus, but a tree-like variety?

    Not a lot of bud photos to compare against. Osmanthus x burkwoodii can get to a substantive size.

    I thought those had 2cm skinny buds. They're still closed in that sort-of bullet shape in the West End.
