I've set it so that newly-registered folks can't upload ZIP files. It shouldn't make too much of a difference for 99.9% of users on here, other than having one less attachment filetype on here that might seem threatening (since it asks to first be downloaded instead of opening in your browser window).
I'd be happy to see them stopped, don't like clicking on them. They do strange things to my file manager.
Well, it's only contributors and people in particular groups (e.g., UBC Staff or students from some of the internal coursework forums) that can use these as attachments now. We use them on the staff internal forums from time to time, so I didn't remove it entirely.
