Wildflowers: Six-foot tall yellow wildflower ID, Michigan

    These wildflowers are very tall, both taller than I am (6 feet).

    I originally thought that they were Helianthus, but now I am not too sure of that. Is this perhaps a Helianthus giganteus?

    The plant is very tall, over 6 feet tall.

    The photos were taken in August in LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve in southeastern Michigan.

    Can you help me identify these?
