Photo shows Honesty Lunaria annua seedheads after seed dispersal. "I can't seem to find a picture of the plant alive" - using the right name helps ;-) It's an outdoor plant; produces purple flowers in spring, and the seed matures mid to late summer. After the seeds ripen, you need to peel off the outer pod layers to get the silvery part exposed.
I looked that name up, too. I'm still wondering if it's possible to grow indoors though. Thanx for the help.
I'd think very difficult indoors - it needs full sun but fairly cool temperatures (10 to 15°C) in spring to develop well. If tried indoors, I think it would end up thin and leggy. Try some in and some out, to see what happens. It seeds itself readily around here, can be a bit of a weed.
