I have a Cottonwood, about 75 feet tall, that is one of 4 planted along the fenceline of a pasture. This particular tree is last in line. Several years ago I noticed some of the smaller branches turning color too early in the fall. This past spring, the leaves came out much smaller and slightly yellowish and a very large branch blew down in a windstorm. Called out two certified arborists - both of whom told me I needed to deep water around the dripline of the tree and it would be okay. I did this as directed, but this spring entire sections of the tree are not budding out and I think its dying. The other trees seem to be fine. Can somebody please help me?
