Just a newbie here so please have patience. We have a 23 year old Blue Spruce. It is roughly 35ft tall. The top 4 ft has started to go very brown ( Dying) and the needles are falling off. The rest of the tree seem fine and healthy. This is the first time that we have had any issues like this. There have been allot of pine cones this year compared to other years. We would like some help and direction on how we should try and correct this problem.

    Thanks for your help. Robert

Robert, about the only thing I know that attacks evergreens are bagworms. Check and see if you see any little hanging bag like things that looks like they have sticks all over them. You may be aware of this already, but worms are inside, and they come out and eat the tree. Yuck, huh? :) Arum

There is also a pest known as Spruce Bud worm, which attacks the top of Spruce trees.
