shrub with blue flowers

My wife's friend has a shrub of which the photo shows a cutting growing on the north side of her house. Can anyone identify it?

 

Caryopteris I believe.

 

I think this looks like a Caryopteris × clandonensis cultivar, not something I'm really familiar with. Maybe someone who knows this plant will chime in. [edited - I see a reply came in with the same name while I was typing]
