Shrub ID please

    Shrub ID please. It's about 6 feet tall. This shrub will be removed when a new house is built. Is it a flowering shrub? Could I take a cuttings and restart it? Thank you.

    Thanks Tyrlych! I presume you mean Hawthorn and yes that definitely is it, although I see no evidence of berries. It doesn't appear to be a native plant, from what I've read.

    Thanks for the great reference Andrey, Now that I see how many Crataegi there are, I am truly humbled. This one does not appear as sharply serrated as most of them. Perhaps Crataegus atrovirens.

    This is the very commonly cultivated Hibiscus syriacus and not a hawthorn.

    Thanks Ron B, The leaves certainly look similar and would explain why I see no evidence of berries.
