    Photographed in October. Has all the look of a hydrangea without sterile florets.

    Thank you. There is an 'electric blue' variety available in NZ called D. versicolor 'Blue Sapphires' that appears to be identical, although the flower compares well with a photo I have of a D. febrifuga in San Francisco Botanical Garden.
