There is also one a block away on Comox just east of Bute, south side, not pictured. One 'Shogetsu' stuffed in among other trees off Cardero, in the lane south of Davie, see photos.
'Shogetsu' are one of the latest cultivars to bloom, They're still looking quite good on May 9, 2009. Here are some locations from 2009. Richmond: a great find this year: nine Shogetsu in the center court of Dorchester Circle (7291-7 Moffatt Road) Kitsilano: W 8th, east of Arbutus, just east of the train tracks - two Shirofugens and one small Shogetsu, reported in 2008. Kerrisdale: three small trees on Yew between 43 and 44.(west side, in front of an Apartment building). Downtown: 2 small pruned trees on the east side of the Bayshore. Other double-white cherries on this side of the building are 'Shirotae', blooming earlier, and 'Shirofugen', in bloom at the same time. More 'Shogetsu' locations: Fairview: 1st Ave entrance to Creekside Park, see photos. Marpole: one 'Shogetsu' at the Springs at Langara, 59th and Columbia, about half way in along the driveway, see photos. UBC: Nitobe Memorial Garden, across from the 'Taki-nioi' and across from the tree we've been calling 'Ojochin', see photo. The map has an entry for a 'Shogetsu' tucked into an entrance way on Walter Gage Road near East Mall. Not mentioned on the forums
