The different leaf shapes sit well with the contrasting colours of (pink) Shin de Shojo (lime green) Seiryu and (purple/black) Bloodgood
It is not only in autumn that you get beautiful colours from these marvellous trees

mass plantings are wonderful because the intensity of hues is enhanced by the
contrasts. the palette of colors we are treated to by our maples eclipses the
stuff of dreams. we are blessed by these trees. I love the translucency of many
of the variegates like looking up thru the leaves of Eskimo Sunset when the purple
undersides smoke the whites, pinks & pastels of the leaf upper surface. I love the
vibrancy of deep reds like Moonfire & Fireglow against the turquoise blue of a bright
    sky.
