    Hello,

I wonder who has a shade garden or patio? What plants have you had success growing in shade or partial shade? Are there any fruits or vegetables that will produce in these conditions? Thanks.

coral bells are great for shady spots, lily of the valley (although they can get invasive), sweet woodruff, hydrangea (they DO need some sun though), lamium, ferns.

heleobore (spelling?) are also good in shade...i don't have any of those yet, though. and hosta's and bleeding hearts.

There is a chapter on growing vegetables in shade in THE COMPLETE SHADE GARDENER by George Schenk.
