I recently purchased an indoor moss plant Selaginella Apoda (Meadow Spike Moss) to add to my small terrarium. It is labelled as an indoors only plant, great for terrariums, however I see on the forum that its survival is dependent on being an outdoors variety. Can someone clear this up for me, please? Many thanks.
Hi Susann, Selaginella apoda will grow well as an indoor plant year-round (and doesn't need a cold period).
Thank you. It is in my terrarium but does not too good at present. I wonder if it is not very hardy. The soil is quite damp and I'm hoping this will save it. It is only a very tiny amount I bought in a small pot at large hardware dept. Will see how it goes then
Keep the soil moist (they hate drying out) and keep it out of direct sun and hopefully you will succeed with it!
