Does anyone know where I can find a red-flowering pieris - it's called Valley Valentine - in the Lower Mainland area? I've called around but can't find one.

    Thanks!

Hello, I am "red flowering Pieris", and here is my picture. [I used my Valley Valentine as my avatar].

They are currently available from Gardenworks in Victoria on Blenkinsop Rd., so I assume in the Greater Vancouver area, and from Cannor Nurseries in Victoria on Elk Lake Dr. which may also have a mainland branch. Come over for a drive and a browse. Wonderful plant. Its new-growth leaf sprigs after blooming aren't as brilliant as the others, though, I want to warn you -- just a sort of pink-blushed green, or at least mine seem to be that way. However, the blooms themselves are delightful and totally enchanting.
