These plants are in a friends garden in Jordan Station (niagara region) SW Ontario.

#1 Growing amongst the mint plants this furry dainty 5-petaled blue flowering plant almost seems to glow. Like something right out of the movie Avatar :) I've never seen anything like it. (pics: 46, 47, 48)

    # 2 Is a towering shrub with smooth purple branches and strange white flowers
Reminds me a bit of sumac in terms of shrub structure but with it's huge leaves seems almost tropical. Flowers sort of look like 1D lilac; stubby white rounded petals with bulbous green centre. (pics: 42, 43, 44, 45)

Having always found the UBC forum filled with responsive, knowledgeable people, I thought to put these 2 little mysteries out there for you to ID.

    Many thanks :)

@abgardeneer you are amazing! Do you just know what these plants are or do you have an asortment of amazing guides? I don't know the botanical terms and use simple english words i.e., fuzzy 5-petal blue flower plant, and then get inundated with irrelevant internet leads .. lol! That's why I caved in and posted to the forum. That said, I'm a 'need to know' type of person so would love to know how you do it :)
