I bought a tote bag at a yardsale and found a seedpod in it...... looks like a teeny tiny pumpkin, hard shell, brown. Does anyone have any idea what kind of plant it comes from?

This is the best I can do for a picture. I was getting ready for a craft show when I found it. Picked it up, said "gee, this looks like a pumpkin... just what I need for the pig", and immediately got out the orange paint. When it turned out so well I figured maybe getting a plant that this came from would be a good idea! Just don't know what or where it came from.

Really? I would have bet it is some kind of seed pod since the back of it was broken off and had segments that looked like seeds had been in it. It was brown until I painted it. As you can see in the picture it's only about 3/4 inch wide and almost 1/2 inch tall. I've been looking at miniature pumpkins and the smallest I've seen are 2-3 inches, much bigger than this thing.
