Seedlings

    I have a Acer Palmatum 'Atropurpureum' that is 4 years old. It's about 7ft high.
    But i wanna know when it get seedlings, after how many years.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    I have always used 10 years of age as a rule of thumb for the beginning of seed bearing in
    Japanese maples. The Dutch are brilliant at Japanese maples and you have perhaps the best
    maple nursery in the West in esveld nursery.

    I have an a. s. aureum that is no more than 3 years, that had samaras last year. Dont know if they were sharp though.

    The age of the of the plant that supplied the scion wood seems most important. This year several one year grafts flowered unabashedly around here.
