Here's two of many that I have deemed to have uniqueness. Acer X palmatum 'Seiryu' with the red-tipped edges - seeds came from a Maple collector with a vast amount of cultivars that are mature and set seed. The green-leaved is a derivitive from local seed collection of a massive A.pal. 'Bloodgood' and I got lucky with a green-leafed seedling with almost fuzzy ribbed edges on the perimeter of the leaf. Also it seems lucky to me to hopefully have the strength of 'Bloodgood' in a green-leafed form. I'll observe it and then make the determination of course. My climate can become very harsh for weeks on end at times! Thanks for looking or possibly even posting some photos of your new seedlings as well. Dax
A leaf from one of my seedling maples. Leaves are starting out dark red and then changing to green with red edges. This is a seedling that I am growing in my basement with metal halide light, so I don't know if that has had much influence or not keith
Very interesting when they first appear After a few years you will see if they are going to retain these characteristics If they do .... then you may well have a 'find' Lets hope so ......
