Last autum/winter a kind member (01876) sent me some seeds from acer negundo and acer rubrum. But the seedlings said to be negundo dont look like negundo. The seeds was thin and quite long. Can anyone id this seedling?

Looks like a form of rubrum to me, but sometimes they change a little as they grow up a little.

These are Acer negundo. The first few pairs of leaves are simple and palmately lobed as in all maple seedlings, the 3- and 5- leaflet leaves only appear in the second (or even third) year. But note the thin green stems with a whitish waxy bloom - that is very typical of Acer negundo.

I also have acer negundo seedlings from this year and they have 3 leaflet on their third pair of leafs, can there be two types?

Could vary from seed origin to seed origin. Wait and see how these develop.
