Seed causing rectal bleeding plz ident.

My wife has rectal cancer, and has rectal bleeding when she eats things that are indigestible. I have no clue where these seeds came from. They are like a long heart shape just under 1/4 inch. If anyone could tell me what they are I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Something in salad? Doesn't look like cucumbers or summer squash...

Obviously a serious and worrying problem. My first thought is that they are grape pips.

In the USA you have some great, publicly-funded, seed identification resources. I think you should consider contacting one of them - ideally with a photo.
