Searching for Ribes Rubrum (Red Currant)

I am trying to find Red Currant bushes for sale within Canada and having a very hard time. Most people carry Black Currant, which I already have.

I am interested in the Red and White currants.

Any links online where I can purchase and have them shipped would be very much appreciated.

In case you are near Langley BC, Cedar Rim Nursery carries both red and white currants: Small Fruits. You can contact them to see if they handle mail orders.

 

If you are on the West Coast, just about any sizable garden centre or even big box store should have red currants. If you are east of the Rockies, it may be more difficult to find them and to grow them.

 

Unfortunately I am on the east coast of Quebec and not anywhere near a specialist nursery (that I know of). The places I did find online all say ''sold out.''

If I cannot find red currant via mail order, maybe the local Canadian Tire will have some in their shipment.

 

Don't know if you checked with JardiClub but they have Ribes alpinum 'Smithii'.

 

I finally found some at Henry Field's. Never ordered from them before and will see how it goes. Ordered 2 white and 2 red currant.

 

Henry Fields is pretty reputable so you should be okay.
