Can anyone please provide the correct scientific name for this specific grass, also known as spear grass? (See Photo). Thank you.

This is not a spear grass (grasses of genus Stipa). Your grass is either barley (Hordeum) or rye (Secale).
You can distinguish them by looking at individual nodes of the spike. If you see two flowers at a node, this is rye (the first two pictures); if three flowers at a node, this is barley (the last two pictures).

Thank you very much for this intelligent answer.
I understand that this "grass" is said to have derived from wild rye. Although people, particularly those who have dogs, which this grass can cause a lot of serious problems for, refer to it simply as spear grass. Whereas there are those in the Stipa family that also cause problems not only for dogs but sheep and lambs as well.
However, I completely understand what you are saying.
I believe that what I am looking at is that of the Secale family, rye.
Again I thank you for this generous response.
    Gratefully.
