Hello - I noted a recent comment from Ron B on a diff thread - specifically about Scarlet Willow (curly willow with red twiggy branches) and now I am curious ---- I have never seen a Scarlet willow at our local nurseries in BC. has anyone ever grown one in greater Vancouver BC near the beach? (I am pretty sure it would do well) anyone grown one in a pot? (large pot) ---- I can grow normal curly willow in a pot - tho it needs daily water (today in this rain and wind it does well - but the hot days for the last few weeks (entire summer) are a bit much for it. anyway - just curious about what it looks like in the winter (any photos out there?) in our Vancouver BC climate and RON B --- in an older post - you say you trim yours along your driveway - do you have a photo of August vs - winter? Ron B - here is the much older thread which is now archived http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=57249 thank you.
The willow here was removed awhile back. Local independent outlets have stocked the plant in the past. http://www.lakecountynursery.com/lcns sell sheets/ScarletCurls.pdf
