Scared of Cow Manure?

Re your home gathered pats and other animal doo make sure you compost it first to get the weeds. I have mentioned it before I had lovely rows of alpaca do (neat animals) and gathered it up dropped it on my dug over patch and voila every undesirable weed from the paddock. Good animal fodder but not easy to get rid of in some cases. Eg red sorrell.

I noticed a comprehensive discussion of potential pathogens in animal waste here that my be worth reading for those uncertian of the risks.
I too use animal waste in my gardens but try hard to make sure it has been properly prepared for the end use.
