My satsuma, about 6-7 years in ground in Houston TX, flowered well but has very few oranges on it and now has some very yellow leaves here and there. Not many, a couple on each branch. It was very rainy in the beginning of the year but we have not had a good rain for over 2 weeks now. I fertilized in February with commercial citrus granules, mulched with pine needles and also gave it some manure tea. Any ideas about the yellow leaves?
If you've got healthy new growth you can ignore a few yellowing older leaves. If the new growth is yellow then it could be waterlogged soil or iron/zinc/manganese deficiency.
Thank you very much, saltcedar and junglekeeper for your responses. They will not only benefit my satsuma and grapefruit trees, but also those of a couple of my Houston citrus growing neighbours!
