Sanity check

    I hate to fuss over anything in the garden. That's why for years I swore I'd not involve myself in exessive winter protection methods. I broke that mind set when I planted a Washingtonia robusta this year. Dispite being reasonably hardy, they're notoriously weak in our rainy winters. I built a winter shelter for this one and once it outgrows this, it's on it's own.

    I wonder if it might be better with open sides, just a roof to keep the rain off?

    Michael F, It is open on the back side. I can close this off if the worst weather comes.
