Sango Kaku leaves have now become floppy (not long after coming into leaf)

I had this small Sango Kaku outside, and started to come to leaf nicely.
However, now the leaves have started become floppy.

Do you think it could have come from the frost we had recently (although I tried to move it into an un-heated conservatory when that happened)?

Would you think there s a way to make it survive?

    Thank you

I have a few like that after the -6°c we had here two weeks ago. All those leaves will drop and you should get a second flush in a few weeks time. Keep it out of direct sun. Some shade will help and water sparingly. No leaves means it needs less to drink. Do not feed it, it's in shock and feeding shocks it further.
Then it's just a waiting game. Good luck Chris.

    I feel it's on "the razor's edge"...
I surely wouldn't over-water it or fertlize it.

    Thank you Derek and Alain.
I've now moved it to another sheltered area, to let it try to recover.

Derek, have those you had after the cold spell recovered yet (or at least not looking worse)?

Not yet Chris, it takes a few weeks. It is so easy to get impatient and worried, but middle of May should start to see some recovery with new buds swelling.

I looked at the tree today, and it looks like the tree has some bigger issues and maybe why it was started to die at the top
Today, I've noticed that some black area have started to come up from the roots, so it could be the reason why it's dying. It was not there a week or two ago.
