I would like to plant a sambucus nigra and have read that if I want to get berries I should plant another of a different variety. I can't find any information on how close the 2 varieties should be. Do they need to be close? Is about 30 feet away too far? Thank you!

I question the need for cross-pollination with these. But you might want more than one for other reasons, such as getting a minimum quantity of fruit to use. 30' should be close enough for bees to fly between them.
