hi I have taken a small 18inches branch that was growing on a friends tree, the branch was growing about a foot from the base of the trunk. I put it into a vase of rainwater, now 4 weeks later there many shoots growing from the 8 inches that are underwater. When will it be safe to plant, should I plant in a large pot or straight into the ground?
should I use any plant food ?

plant anytime the roots become visible. keep the plants well watered, go easy on the fertilizer for the first month or two. the salts can cause problems for the young transplants.
