I recently bought a Salacca from Hawaii. Before they shipped it they trimmed off every leaf! It has 6 leaves, I estimate that before the trim job, the longest was probably 5-6 ft from where it exits the trunk to the tip.

I have it planted inside my greenhouse and its doing very well, but so far, no new leaves.

How slow growing a palm is this, and when can I expect it to look nicer with new growth? How often should I fertilize it?

It's a shame this palm was trimmed so hard. I was unable to find anything regarding it's speed of growth. I can assume it's probably not a fast grower. Patience is probably the best thing at this point. The palm is adjusting to the severe pruning. Provide the conditions it grows well under, and you should be rewarded.
    Cheers, LPN.
