rust on pear trees

    Both our pear trees have been decimated this year, thanks to our miserable cold and very wet Spring. We have rust, vividly demonstrated by the bright orange spots on all leaves . . . and all -- ALL! -- our tiny growing pears have fallen to the ground. Apparently no chemical remedies are recommended. Simply have to wait for next year. Sigh.

    Occasional crop failures are one of those things you have to put up with, sadly.
