I am down in Texas and we have been recieving an above average amount of rain fall this summer. We have a rather tall native fig tree (i guess it would be classified as?) that is loaded with figs. BUT, with the excessive rain almost every day for a month, it caused what I assume is "rust" on the leaves, as they have brown spots on them, around the edges, then die. It is the WILDEST thing you have ever seen. I should get a pic up of the tree? A tree with just branches with little green balls on the end of it. haha The fig tree is starting to leaf out again, but I dont' want any of the NEW leaves to get "rust" on them either and die and fall off again. What type of application needs to be put on a fig tree to stop this leaf rust coming back on the new spouting leaves? I also assume that the figs will not mature properly either with no leaves on the tree? Someone suggested taking nearly all the figs off (75% or so)to help save the tree so NEW leaves can produce, since the figs probably will not mature anyway? What stops leaf rust on a fig tree? is the main question. Thanks, Michael
