rubber treee has outsized the pot!

    We have a 9 foot rubber tree, which has outgrown its' pot. In order to get the roots out, we have to either break the pot apart, or can we "root prune" near the pots' edge and pry it out?

    Will this hurt the plant?
    What is the best soil mixture to repot it in?
