Identification: rounded ball of mushroom! (puff balls)

    What is the name of this mushroom? Is it related with Truffle and How can find the truffle?

    Hi Ariani, good to hear from you again!

    Certainly looks like a puffball, but not possible to make a positive ID from the photo. Also of course many Albanian mushrooms will be different from those we have here.

    Truffles have a similar reproductive strategy but are not very closely related to puffballs.

    In our region, a good way to find truffles is to look in the truffle holes dug by deer and rodents: Perhaps there is an animal in your region that is a truffle digger. A few truffle species grow slightly aboveground, and can be found by getting to know their habitat. There are other signs but best to find a resource that provides info on the signs in your region for your truffle species.
