Hello - These roses grow in my backyard and gives me endless joy because of our longer growing season here in South Carolina. they also have a fragrance that will make you drunk. I've provided another overall image of it to aid in it's identification - hope that helps. One more thing: I'm moving from South Carolina to Colorado I'd like to know if it's possible to migrate these roses - do you know how to root them? Keep in mind that these bushes are doing ok only because I stay away from them except to photograph them. By the way, the single bloom on the picture of the entire bush was taken just yesterday - these roses seem to be really hardy.
Re: Another request for identification Ouch, yes, for rose identification you need specialists. Not just plant specialists, but rose specialists. As far as a move is concerned, as long as a plant is still hardy in the area you're moving to, you should be able to either root a cutting to take, or dig up the whole bush and take it - and of course some times of year are better than others for this. You can cut roses back a good ways (how they are often sold) to just a few stumps, but you should probably be aware of whether you're dealing with a plant on its own roots or a grafted one. That's about the limit of what I know about roses!
Re: Another request for identification Maybe you're already on it by now, if not http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/rosesname/ Notice the tips under FAQ on how to post information that will give enough clues. Your two roses are types that look like many others so you will definitely have to be detailed - but there is quite a bit of activity on the rose forums at that site so you may get some suggestions.
