I have three healthy cuttings taken from a Queen Elizabeth rose last fall. They are currently still in a greenhouse kept above freezing temperature. Each cutting has a single shoot. One of these shoots is almost 18 inches long and is developing a rose bud at its tip.
Should I allow the flower to bloom or would it be better to prune the shoot to encourage the plant to bush out? Or would it be better to leave any pruning until the fall or maybe next spring? (I plan to transplant the cuttings from their pots into the garden in the fall.)
