Rose "Beautiful"

    This rose consistantly produces flowers on 2' stems. It doesn't produce alot of flowers but the ones it does a spectacular! Hope you can see it well enough. barb

    Cut it down low end of next winter so it is lower and bushier next summer.

    It did not get pruned last year. Daughter was afraid it would not put out the long stems. Any clue if pruning would produce shorter stems? These are really too long to put in a vase. barb

    Hybrid Tea or similar type, in which case long-stemmed roses are the point. Shorten stems of cut flowers as needed to fit container.

    Yes Ron, that's what most sane people would do but she's new to gardening and soooo proud of those stems that she won't. We end up with a nice arrangement with this giant rose poking out the top. Would drive a florist to drink!! barb
