This is an interesting response to these images. Are you thinking of Blake?

 

This is not Rosa rugosa. It's 'Dr. Huey', commonly seen due to its use as a rootstock.

Hmmm... not sure how to answer that without divulging secrets, beyond the obvious (that is, that they are digital manipulations of snapshots of flowers). Sorry...
