    Edit - Title supposed to say "Rooting Japanese Maple Cuttings?"

    1.) Will Rootone work?
    2.) Where on the brach should the cutting be?
    3.) Can you describe the process? Like do I keep the cutting in water after I use rootone (if rootone works) etc.

    Thanks =)

    Re: Rooting *** Maple Cuttings?

    I have never used Rootone, so i can't say if it works or not, it should though. Make the cut just below a leaf bud, apply the Rootone and fallow the directions they tell you for applying it. Then plant it in a pot of some sort and try to keep it slightly moist but not soaking wet. It may take a few trys to get it, just try not to disturb it for a few months, besides keeping it moist. It helps if you can use some wire to go over the pot and drape saran wrap around it, just keep an eye out for mold, and open it for a few hours once a week to help prevent mold...good luck

    Maples can be hard to start from cuttings, do you know the variety?
    You may have better luck with an air layer instead
