    What should I do/avoid

I have a general idea of what I am suppose to do but does anyone have any tips and tricks they can contribute?

I'll be doing tons of root pruning this Autumn but I would like to have a nice knowledge seasons before :)

( I'm mainly doing it to transplant trees in pots. )

    Thank you.

I'd think spring, right before bud break would be good because then new roots will be produced right afterward. What kinds of trees are you asking about? Tropicals may be on a different annual cycle than cold climate adapted plants.
