My Robellini Plam appears to have white on the palms and on the new shoots. The leaves also seem to be getting stiff. Help!

Is this a bleaching/discoloration of the leaves, or is it white fluffy looking stuff? If the latter, could be mealy bugs.

It is not fluffy but kind of scaly. The whole plant is starting to droop and there is some browning leaves that also seem dried out.

Could you post a photo? Sounds as if you have a bad infestation, perhaps scale insects.

Your description sounds like what my Phoenix roebelinii had.
It had this course feeling of white powdery junk on most of the fronds, also browning/rust on the fronds and tips really bad and it wouldn't go away.I didn't know what it was.

I gave it to a neighbor who wanted it, and she kept it outdoors in bright shade and gave it only rain water. It never did get any better though sorry to say, and whatever that stiff white stuff was, it eventually attacked the whole palm and it died about 3 months later.
After some research, I think it might have been caused by something called, Aulacaspis yasumatsui!, or, Cycad Aulacaspis scale Aulacaspis yasumatsui.

If you go to Google and type in this name, clicking on "Images" you'll see a bunch of photos with this problem. I can't be 100% sure that was my palms problem. but it sure did look a lot like the photos.

    Additional information.

Aulacaspis yasumatsui isn't known to infest any palms so unlikely it's that,
however the treatment would be the same. It may be cheaper to destroy the
plant than to go to the expense of attempting a cure.

I guess it's a big problem with Cycas revoluta (not a palm) thank goodness mine shows no sign of any problems like that.
Whatever the problem your Robellini is afflicted with, maybe you could try a treatment recommended and see if that doesn't help..
