Hello, I am ordering a load of soil/mushroom manure and am wondering if the mushroom manure could contain fungi or viruses which could be harmful to the health of my numerous rhodos, azaleas and Japanese maples? Would a soil/compost combination be better overall as a soil booster for my gardens?

    Thanks for your time,

    Mistral

Probably too alkaline. For mulching trees and shrubs the best thing is arborist wood chips. As long as there are no pieces of perennial weeds like giant morning glory (voice of experience here) or roadside litter that needs to be picked out.

On Camano Island we use and love cedar play chips. Clean, aromatic and resilient.

But not cheap, we don't love the pricing.
