Found this in ornamental plantings. Looks like a Rhamnus, but I could not find such rounded petals and undivided style among Rhamnus species. Most pictures on web are obsessed with berries and only few show flowers. Any clues? Thanks, Andrey
I believe it is Euonymus. Possibly Euonymus grandiflorus which is flowering now. Sorry only pics I could find were on flickr.... normally a last resort for adding as a link! Note on 2nd link says taken at UC Botanic garden Berkeley, California So may be accurate. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4047/4690072800_681ab937d8_b.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/jim-sf/4204574497/ With us Euonymus kiautschovicus is another later season flowering Euonymus. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgu...LH6Cg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:0
Thank you, Silver! I see where I took a wrong turn, now: I did not notice the reduced sepals and thought this is a perianth with a single whorl. The photo with berries is beautiful! Will wait for the fall now to see mine.
