The following review was published in the June 2011 edition of Consumer Reports: Don't flip over Topsy Turvy.
Other brands of planters may have similar drawbacks.

Friend of mine tried one last year and gave it an emphatic 'thumbs down'.

Sure---just like any other fad item, for some people, and in some situations, it would work OK.
    I find them unattractive.

Last summer I passed by one of these planters, suspended from a clothesline, on my way to work and back. Day by day I saw the poor tomato get browner...and drier...until one day plant and planter disappeared.

    Pots for me!

I bought one to try out this year. The plant is 10 to 15% the size of those in pots, which are 5+ feet tall now.

I put a plant outside in a lasagna garden in front of the green house. It is even larger and bushier than the ones in pots in the greenhouse. I can't wait

Hey, good news! Glad to hear it.

I think that the main reason for poor results with these planters is that folks just do not water them frequently enough. I have seen several hanging in yards, in the direct baking sun, with the poor drooping tomato gasping its last. (The above-described suspended from the clothesline is an example. It was hanging above a heat-radiating asphalt surface as well!)

Clearly, you are doing right by your plant!
    How about a photo?
