Hello. Our neighbors moved out and put this beautiful plant out by the dumpster. It doesn't seem to be doing that well in our house. It doesn't get any full sun where it sits, although the room is bright for much of the day. Anyway, if you have any idea what type of plant please let me know. Thanks!

it looks like a draceana. that lighting should be okay for it...maybe open those curtains during the day so it'll be a bit brighter.

any plant will be stressed when moved - especially one that goes from inside, to the outside heat and sits there for a bit. moving plants outside should be done gradually, so they have time to acclimate.

give the plant a week or so to get adjusted...don't water it until then either as that can actually make the stress worse.

it doesn't look all that bad. it could probably use a topping-off (and you can plant the top parts to make new plants). i'd wait until it's acclimated to your house before doing that. and it's best to do that in spring, so plan on it for then, not now.

when you do water, do so thoroughly (you should see some water just starting to come out the bottom drain holes) and then let it dry down a couple inches before watering again (always water thoroughly). that size container shouldn't need watering any more often then 2-3 weeks.
