Hello all! This is my first time on this site as I look desperately for help. I was lucky enough to got a trunk of a pony tail palm given to. It's massive and old. Those people didn't want it any more and weren't sensitive digging it up and all roots are missing. I got only the big trunk and it sits in the moment in a wheel barrow full of potting mix waiting to be planted. Reading through this web site I know it will need a sunny position and I found a very beautiful spot close to the house a bit wind sheltered but lots of morning sun. I live near the coast in West Australia and the ground has a high amount of limestone but is dry and sandy what pony tails like I figured.

Will it survive and regrow roots or is it most likely to die? would rooting powder help?

    Cheers Janni
