We planted a Liquid Amber near our swimming pool in Feb this year (2010) and thought we were adding a beautiful garden tree. But now my mind has changed after reading this thread! We live in South Africa and so currently going into our Summer. The reason why I found this website is that I was trying to find out why my Liquid Amber's leaves where so small. When we initially planted the tree it was full of leaves and looked great and healthy. Then is lost some its leaves due to transplant shock. The leaves started growing again in Oct, but now they have remained the same size for some time now and don't look like they are going to grow anymore.

However, I am thinking of digging out this tree completey before it roots anymore as I don't want to have a root problem. Based on the pictures I have posted are there any experts out there that agree that I should have this tree removed immediately?

    Thank you!
