I have a 30' tall multi-stem holly tree. It's in the middle of the back yard and as much as I appreciate the beautiful berries and wildlife value I want to remove it. It's much too big to relocate. I am admittedly superstitious, afterall why take a chance! In some cultures holly trees are kind of sacred and are places for elves and faeries to live. Any helpful suggestions on offsetting bad luck. Thanks for your help.
Holly is an invasive alien in the Vancouver area, so is not sacred there. Associations with elves and faeries only occur where holly is native, such as here in Britain. Therefore for you, removing it is perfectly safe :-)
@ Michael F - thanks, I'll proceed with the removal of the tree and all of the suckers that will pop up. I might just plant another holly or similar plant in a better place, just in case, the bees and the birds LOVE IT.
