    Hello,

I have a blue spruce in the front yard growing up in our tree. My husband and I have lived here for two years now and do not know why they planted a beautiful blue spruce so close to this tree. But that is what has happened, the spruce is growing up in the tree and it is causing a big mess. I really hate the thought of just cutting this tree down. I thought there might be some organization out there that would love to have the spruce. This seems a better alternative to me than to just cut the spruce down killing it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    A photo would be handy.

Now - if it's near another tree, often the roots grow one among the other's, and make transplant difficult.

I rarely feel bad about cutting down a tree if it's in a bad spot. Here, it's just ground up, used as mulch, and in short time, starts to be absorbed by other living plants.

But if a tree is easily transplanted, I've used several myself. Just saw that the 16' white birch I moved in last summer's heat at the last home is still making it, even though we were not there to water it the past hot Medford, OR, area summer. Likewise with 2 eleven foot shore pines I moved the year before it.
