Bellingham WA: This plant is growing in a container where I had planted a snowberry, thimbleberry, and western columbine. It's shooting up this year as if it came from the snowberry but it looks slightly different. I would greatly aappreciate your ID. Thank you!

Snowberry leaves sometimes look like those in your photo. Do you know that both the snowberry and thimbleberry could each use all the space in that container to themselves? Both can get much larger even than the container given the opportunity.

Agreed - snowberry leaves can vary significantly on the same plant, from no lobing at all to the sinuous lobes seen here.

Thank you both! I don't know what to do about their size vs. the containers. My spirea and mock orange in their containers might also get big for their containers at some point.
